DEAR ANDREA
So far we are hanging in there. We do have help during the day. My husband and 16 year old daughter help as much as they can. I just feel somehow they I don't give them what they need either which is my time.
I go from putting Grandma in a home, but when it comes down to it I really will have trouble doing that. As long as she has her mind I can't do that, it to me would be like throwing her away at this point, I just can't do that. I know it is getting hard for the rest of my family we have been doing this for 2 years now. Our whole live revolves around Grandma what we do or most time don't do.
I vent on my husband alot which isn't good for him either, because he doesn't like the way Grandma talks to me she is just old and crabby alot. I think I will be the worst one to come along if I make it to 90 I will have learned all the tricks by then.HAHA As far as caring for Grandma I think I do a good job she hasn't been in the hospital since Dec she has regular Dr visits and her Dr says he thinks I'm doing a great job with her, but rhere isn't a lot more they can do for her, she is just plain wore out. I am sending her to her daughters this weekfor a few days. My husband has to have a hernia surgery and I want to do some painting before the summer is over so we will get a few days break. I don't want Gandma to feel she is in the way because I really don't feel that way. But sometimes no matter what you do, you begin to feel like maybe she would be happier some place else, I really don't think that because she never wants to leave me and when she does she is always happy to get back home. It is nice to know thatyou aren't by yourself out here. Most people you talk to think your nuts when you tell them you are taking care of your elderly grandmother. But I gues not everyone can do it. Well I hope all is going well with you take care Thanks for caring
LYNN
