CareTalk Forum: Registration and E-Mail

Date: 1999, Aug 24
From: Mark MacGregor sudeka

The CareTalk forum has great new features!

  • Entire message is now e-mailed to subscribers.
  • Steps have been taken to prevent spamming.
  • Conversations can be fully conducted via E-mail.
  • There is better control over E-mail subscriptions.
You must first register (become a member) in order to post messages to CareTalk.  We took this step in order to maintain a higher quality standard by preventing anonymous users from spamming and posting rude remarks.  Click this button to register

After registering, you will be able to post new messages and reply to messages without visiting the web site.  But first, you must subscribe to receive e-mail copies of new messages that are posted to the forum.  Please read on if you are unfamiliar with the subscription process, or click this button to subscribe now

You can post a new message or reply to an e-mail message received from CareTalk by sending an e-mail to sudeka@asktransitions.com.  If you are replying to a message received from CareTalk, please click the "reply-to-all" button in your e-mail program while reading that message. This will help assure that your reply is automatically posted to the proper position in CareTalk.

You can modify your e-mail subscription or unsubscribe at any time.  To modify your e-mail subscription, click the "E-Mail" button and choose subscribe or unsubscribe from the particular view where you want the change to be effective.

Here are some examples of what you can do with your e-mail subscription:
  • If you no longer want to receive ANY messages from CareTalk, then click the E-Mail button and choose unsubscribe while viewing the main outline of messages.
  • If you want to receive all new messages EXCEPT those from a particularly uninteresting conversation, then view the first message in that conversation and unsubscribe from there.
  • If you are only interested in following one or two conversations, then unsubscribe from the main outline and subscribe to the first message in each of the conversations that you want to follow.
