Mom with Dimentia vs Not so caring son

My neighbor was recently taken from her home by her son and placed in a secured facility. He has filed for and obtained conservatorship of finances and of her. He had the locks chenged on the house and left an old Golden Retriever behind with no one to care for her. The woman does not want her son to have control of her finances or in making decisions as to her residence. The son has intentions of emptying the house and selling it. How can this be stopped? We have only 4 days before the son takes action.
