Dear Reader, How are you handling the stress in your life, whether it's mild, severe, or somewhere in-between? We all know people react differently to the same situation. Environment and heredity enter into the picture. For instance, leading a sheltered life doesn't prepare you to deal with negatives, nor does leading a high powered life. The fact is, "some rain will fall on your parade." The thing is, how are you going to deal with it? Hopefully you have some self discipline. I realize as you become older you slow down whether you want to or not, and you become tired sooner, but you have to face up to these adversities. Force yourself to sit down and think things through. Like me, do you find that catastrophies come in bunches? It would be easy to sit down and cry, but solutions won't come about this way. I find it helpful to talk to someone about the problem because this forces me to put my thoughts into words. It also helps me connect with others having similar experiences. Knowing others are making-it gives me a sense of security and an ability to cope. Remember, the sooner you settle your mind, the sooner you'll be happy, and this will make the people around you feel happy, as well! Grandma |
