Total Fitness Program for Senior Citizens

Dear Reader,

Someone asked me what I thought about starting a fitness program for Seniors. I think it's a wonderful idea considering how health conscious many of us have become. My own children often say "if you don't use it, you lose it" and I agree with them 100%.

A Fitness Center would have to be easily accessible for those who don't drive.  Elevators are another factor. Different levels of the same activity for different levels of ability is another consideration, plus good instructors with positive happy attitudes.

Most important for any participant would be to get their doctor's permission to join a program like this. I know from personal experience with my surgeries that each specialist reviewed my list of exercises, crossing off those I should not be doing and adding those he thought were more appropriate.

I manage to do a half-hour workout each time. Personally, I prefer doing this at home when I first get up, but I'll bet there are others who would be motivated by working out in a group setting with supervised instruction.

You seem to have a good plan for a total program. You could reach a great number of people that way, especially if you gave the "joiner" as many or as few options as he might want to select. We need fun and variety in our lives, and interaction with all sorts of people. A program like this provides zest for living plus companionship and quality of life.
