I Can't Believe I'm This Old!

Dear Reader,

How many times have you heard this? "I can't believe I'm this old because I still feel young inside." The truth of the matter is you are that old and your wrinkles prove it. But, do you know how to combat this? Just smile a lot.

You have to make the adjustment to realizing that you can't do all the things you once were able to do easily. It's good to keep striving though, or else you might find yourself back-sliding. As one of my sons told me, "If you don't use it, you lose it."

But, there is a good side to this, as well. Now you can give up the hectic life and concentrate on doing the things you really want to do - things that you haven't had time to do before. This doesn't mean that you'll give up all yourvolunteer work, clubs, duties and services - just cut back and substitute. I am not a nap-taker, but others might want to do that for revitalization. Or you might want to try new hobbies or take time to read those books you thought might interest you.

You probably have other ideas that you can share with our readers. Let us know so that we can pass them along. I think we all want to be productive and interesting, as well as being interested.
